la Contessa de San Sebastian
It's a moonlit night in glorious  Spain, and the gala ball is
about to begin....
Like a modern-day Cinderella, the Contessa silently slips
into the ball and manages to turn the heads of the other
guests!
The Contessa is based on a stunning design by Cristobal
Balenciaga -one of the most highly revered couturiers....
The gown is a glorious iridescent cerise silk sheath with
an attached train.   Floating over the bodice of the gown
is a cerise chiffon, intricately hand embroidered in gold
thread, crystals, and frosted glass beads.    The
embroidery cascades along  the hem of the train,
catching the light as the gown sways whilst she dances
with the crowned heads of Europe!
The Contessa--
A dream of the rich colors of a sunset in Spain...
The Contessa's raven hair has been swept back into
a sleek chignon, with her bangs swirled to the side...
Her  once pale makeup was removed and given the
shock of color so deserving a diva-- deep blues eyes
rimmed in warm minky tones and soft gold are lined
with sharp  couture-influenced lashes.   Deep
raspberry lips reflect the tones of the
shimmering silk gown.
Bold chandelier
earrings in cerise
crystals with
pearl accents
dangle like rosy
starts from her
ears...
The unusual
necklace, also in
cerise crystal,
seems simple at
the throat, yet it's
slim gold chain
dips down in the
back, drawing the
eye along the
Contessa's bare
shoulders and
down her slender
back...
Here she is, at the auction table!  The Contessa was
the first doll I ever designed for a Convention Live
Charity Auction!
She brought in over $1500!
